Blackbird Fly is founded by Artina Sharpton founder and head coach of Tsunami Track club based in Staten Island NY. She brings a vast amount of community outreach via her Track team, as well as practical application as a woman who wears many hats.

PEMG has been responsible for such events as HipHop 4 Haiti NYC, and The Iron Chef of HipHop. HH4H's primary goal is to effectively address and bring light to community outreach efforts through the cultural influence of the HipHop Lifestyle.
What is Blackbird Fly?
Blackbird fly is a proactive response to the condition of young women in our communities. Many of whom have not had the proper training to go from girls to young ladies. The world has moved around them, and in some cases right by them, far too fast. Blackbird Fly is focused on giving these young women a window into what life not only could be like for them.... but SHOULD be like for them.

Why are you promoting such an event? Over the last few years there has been a recent TEAR DOWN of the image of the Urban Female specifically women of African descent (this is to include Latino women as well as women of Mideastern descent ) in the media. However with the election of Barack Obama to office the presence of First Lady Michelle Obama has renewed the Image of Women of Color throughout the world. We hope to utilize this momentum, to find and refine the young ladies that are a part of this program.
How? With your support!! Want to know how you can help? Start by joining the site, and then contact us with what you think you can do. If you can, become a sponsor, all grassroots movements exist specifically off the donations, sponsorships, and dollars and cents support from the people. You know better than anyone else that we need your help to turn our young girls into young ladies.
